Colts win Award!!
- Last week a team of Cowdrey colts of mixed ages took part in a triangular tournament to compete for the Herbert Hunter Trophy Shield. We are delighted to say that we won! Full story and match report from George Apps to follow...
Please please!!Help needed!
- On Monday 8th September, following our last weekend home fixture, we urgently need help with preparing the square for the winter months. This involves scarifying the square, distributing top soil throughout, erecting protective fences, etc. We all agree that this year the pitches have been better than ever before, so please help if you can with this important process in the preparation work for next season. Any time that you can spare during the day would be greatly appreciated! General spring cleaning in the clubhouse is also required
Senior sides Awards night! on Friday 26th September
- Make sure you set this night aside to be present at our Annual Awards night out! 2008 season Best batsmen, bowlers and captains awards will be won, followed by a night on the town!
Full Committee meeting Monday 13th October
- Could ALL committee members and adult team captains, together with ALL Colts team Managers please book this date in your diaries and be present for this meeting. Topics are to be discussed which will affect you!!!
Colts winter nets
- All winter net sessions are 'by invitation only' and if selected, either Gary or your Colts Manager/coach will contact you, nearer the time.
- Swanmead sessions will start again in the first week of May 2009

Club Day - Hope you had fun!
- Despite the threat of rain throughout our club day on Sunday was considered to be a great success. We managed to raise much needed funds (in excess of 2K has been rumoured!) to assist our Colts and Senior sides in the future. Congratulations to all of the raffle prize winners and the successful auction bidders. We hope everyone enjoyed their day and were suitably fed and watered! Further details to follow...

- Barney Scott set a record highest score at Swanmead on Saturday with 132 not out.
- The following day he had a golden duck!
Tour Cancelled!
- We have had to cancel this years tour to Havant, due to insufficient numbers and non-commitment.
- It's a great shame but the decision had to be made now to save any further financial loss.
- Andy will notify us in due course of details.
Quiz night
- Many thanks to everyone who supported us at our Quiz Night. We raised about £330 with your help.
- We hope you had an enjoyable evening and managed to survive the CHEESE overload!

Cowdrey Golf Day
- DA wins At golf day!
- Woodlands Manor Golf Club hosted this years Cowdrey Golf Day on a warm and humid Friday afternoon.
- 14 golfers and Bill competed in a friendly but competitve round of golf, with various prizes on offer.
- DA stormed around the first 9 holes with 22 points, with Dave N hot on his heels with 19 points. The back 9 was a different story for many as Daves round fell apart and Mike Lord was on a charge. Darren won the overall competition with a solid 36 points, Mike and Glen were runners up.
- Dave, DA, Mike, Steve and Alan Smith all won Nearest the Pin prizes, while Glen won Longest Drive with a 4 iron!
- Many thanks to the organisers, and all who took part. Hope to see you next year!!
Kent CCC 2 for 1
- Two Kent County Championship Match tickets for the price of One
- The club pay an annual subsciption to the Kent Cricket Board. This brings many benefits including the ability for Club members to purchase two tickets (in total £24) for the price of one (£12) at any home Kent LVCC County Championship match. We have twenty such concessions and will use them on a 'first come first served' basis.
- Anyone wishing to take advantage of this facility should contact our treasurer, Steve Southwart, in person or ring 01732 832345.
- A minimum of 10 days notice is required to secure the tickets, as an application has to be sent to Kent CCC and tickets posted back.
- A cheque for £12 made payable to 'Kent Cricket Board' is required prior to making this application

- Tuesdays - Adults, starting on May 6th, 6.50 until 8.45pm
- Wednesdays - Under7-Under11 (years 2-6), starting on May 7th, 6.45 until 8.30pm
- Thursdays - Under12-Under13 (Years7-8), starting on May 1st, 6.45 until 8.45pm
- Fridays - Under14/15 (years 9-10), starting on May 2nd, 6.45 until 8.45pm
- Players need to be registered before each session
