We are Bobbin along on the crest of a wave!

Bobbing/LH 162-10

Cowdrey 163-8

Having won the toss Glen decided to field first. Clarky & Rooney opened the bowling. Rooney bowled well but his mind was obviously still on him and Steve S taking the wrong turn and heading towards Canterbury on the M2! Meanwhile John O had still not yet arrived and was trying his best to duplicate Ant Bryant!

The Home side started well and build a useful partnership. Eventually the wickets started to come and the home side posted a fair target of 162-10. John C 2-25, Glen W 3-42, Gary M 4-41.Andy H taking 2 very good high catches.

The teas I would rate as a 7/10 but edible.

Cowdrey started their reply shakily with both Jack S and Andy H both giving chances. But with both chances spilt the openers made the home side pay. They raced along at 6 runs per over. The running between the wickets was extremely good with the odd 'harem scarem' moment!

The introduction of the spin twins slowed this rate and the openers continued more cautionary.Eventually with the partnership worth 79 AndyH was 1st to go for a useful 44,LBW (Bill's end).

Runs were now having to be grafted out.Wickets were taken at regular intervals including a very good 49 from Jack S. When Glen W was dismissed batting at no6,11 runs were still needed off 2 overs.Bobbing sniffed a victory with the main batsmen gone, however a new hero emerged as Steve W hit a superb 6 and then saw a lofted edge pass the short third man for 4 runs.Unfortunately he was then bowled with the scores level.Gary M came to the crease and asked the fielders if they could switch on the floodlights! Next ball he pushed into a gap and Rooney sprinted to the danger end and the match was won!

20 points job done!
