Its raining points!

On a damp and drizzly day Bobbing Court and Lower Halstow were gracious enough to allow a game of cricket to take place. A reduced over(40) match started with Bobbing winning the toss and electing to put Cowdrey into bat. Lewis Wright and Jack Southwart soon ripped into the bowling setting an opening partnership of 100 before Jack was out for 44 in the 20th over. Andy Hammond(30) came in at 3 and built another fine partnership of 63 with Lewis. Warner(9*) saw the innings out with the unbeaten Wright on 110. Cowdrey were 208 for 2 at what was a very pleasurable tea. Thanks to the Probert family.

After delays for rain, Bobbing came out to bat, possibly hoping the game would be abandoned, but credit to the umpires for allowing the match to progress. Hayward was unlucky not to get his half century before being stumped by makeshift keeper Hammond for 46. Bennett(32) was the only other batsman to make much of an impression on the scoreboard, before he too was a victim of Hammonds, off Needham's deceptive spin attack. Will was the pick of the bowlers today with figures of 3 for 25 off 7. Hammond could be finding a new job with 4 dismissals to his name (2catches, 2 stumpings). After further rain intervals Bobbings innings closed on 119 - 8, leaving Cowdrey with 20 valuable winning points.

Our thanks to BC & LH for letting the game finish.
