Win against Tunbridge Wells
Cowdrey got off to a great start to the season with a win over Tunbridge Wells.
Cowdrey won the toss & chose to bowl and Tom Devlin (Ryan Sidebottom) got off to a flyer taking 3 wickets in 4 overs. Not to be outdone, Ed (Woody) Harris took a 4 wicket haul ending in a diving caught & bowled situation. After dropping most of the catches in practice, every one was held in the game. Catch of the day went to Alex Park (Parky) with other notable catches going to Sam Denton, Conor Skillen, Rex Boulter (wk) and Alex Hollingsworth. Maximum bowling points came when the home side were all out for 72 runs.
With a target of 73 to win, our openers hit out but did not last long, then came an intelligent innings by Alex Hollingsworth (27) not out and partnership with Ross Pilkington, which took Cowdrey near to victory. A final stylish 4 by Alex gave us a valuable bonus point for batting.
