Defeat against Holmesdale
Cowdrey lost the toss & were elected to field. The opposition got off to a storming start with their opener getting 50 runs before retiring. Cowdrey managed to keep all but two of the Holmesdale batsmen under double figures. Tight fielding and good catches by Alex Park (Parky), Ben (Beno) Browning and Joel Scott, along with bowling wickets for Ross Pilkington (2), Ed Harris (2), Conor Skillen (2) and Sam Denton (1) meant that Holmesdale completed their innings on 116-7.
Cowdrey went in confidently to bat and CJ was unfortunate to get a platinum duck. With the light fading the Cowdrey batsmen struggled to get above double figures. Johnny Beale hit a sensible 14 and Ross Pilkington a solid 32. Tom Devlin did his best to get 10 runs in a last wicket stand with Conor Skillen before Cowdrey were bowled out for 104 runs with a couple of overs to go.
Disappointment for the first defeat of the season.
