Loss against St.Lawrence
Cowdrey lost the toss & were elected to field first. It was 28 runs before Ross clean bowled their number 2 (who had got a 50 against us last time) and then another 50 runs before Sam took a wicket (caught by Alex Park). Ross then clean bowled their number 5 before Ben Browning got their opener out for 48 (well done Ben). Towards the end Alex Park took a wicket (caught by Conor Skillen) but Cowdrey struggled to keep the runs down and St. Lawrence finished with a good total of 143 for 5.
It was always going to be a difficult target to reach and James Skidmore (promoted to opener) did well to stay in for a few overs but lost Alex Park early on. Then came Ross Pilkington who has been threatening to get a decent score all season and played some excellent shots to score his first 50. Unfortunately all the other batsmen couldn’t reach double figures except Alex Howard who scored a fairly prompt 12 runs.
It would be fair to say that the U13 ‘A’s have had a good season and certainly improved since last year.
