Win against Bells Yew Green
Cowdrey lost the toss & were elected to bat first. CJ and Alex got off to a steady start with a partnership of 23 runs before CJ was caught for 9. Then came star performance of the season so far from Alex Park who hit a magnificent 51 (retired) which included a solid partnership with Ross Pilkington of 62 runs. The innings ended with 118 runs.
Bells Yew Green got off to a good start, scoring an average of 6 runs an over in the first few overs. Cowdrey were worried for a while until Alex Hollingsworth caught their opening batsman just as he was hitting out. Nick Farr took a fine catch too and Joel Scott’s had a great debut when he took 2 consecutive wickets and narrowly missed a hat trick! Solid bowling from Alex Park (2), Ross Pilkington (1), Tom Devlin (1) and Freddy Hoare (1) brought Bells Yew Green to a halt at 95-8. Sam Denton caught a great running catch at the end
