Win against Edenbridge

Cowdrey got their season off to a flying start at Longmead on Sunday, beating Edenbridge with an impressive batting display which earned them three bonus points.

James Skidmore and Laurie Wood got Cowdrey off to a quick start, putting on 21 for the first wicket, before Ben Browning came to the crease and hit a quickfire 49, taking the game to Edenbridge in aggressive style. He was well supported by Wood and Alex Howard, with whom he shared a strong partnership of 58. Oliver Shimmin and Luke Brame chipped in at the end of the innings, leaving the visitors with a target score of 128 to win.

Cowdrey&primes attack showed good balance, with the quick bowlers, Joel Scott and Luke Brame, providing pace and hostility from one end while Nick Farr kept the visitors quiet at the other with good line and length. Wickets were shared between Brame, Farr, Chris Corbett and Laurie Wood, whose 3 for 11 in two overs ended the visitors hopes of getting back into the game.
