Another good win for Cowdrey
Cowdrey’s youngsters showed the way in this good win at Mayfield. Batting first, Cowdrey were soon in trouble at 0 for 1. U11 star Bradley Warwick Brown came to the crease and played a fine innings of 25 runs to put Cowdrey back into the game, and Ben Mutch and Kane Joseph scored 10 and 19 respectively to help the side to a respectable 94. Oscar Holmes played some good scoring shots at the end of the Cowdrey innings.
The young players were also in form with the ball, Bradders bowling 4 hostile overs for only 6 runs and taking the wicket of Mayfield’s most prolific batsman, while Ben Mutch took 3 wickets for for 7 runs off his four overs. Kane Joseph, Connor Simpson, Luke Brame and Sam Brittain also took wickets, leaving Mayfield 19 short of the target at 75.
A special mention for Skiddy, who reluctantly kept wicket. He turned in an excellent performance, giving away only three byes and winding up the batsmen in true Howard style.
