Great fightback vs. Crowborough

Cowdrey put up a valiant fight to stay in this match after being set 134 to win by Crowborough. The visitors batted first, and when Ed Harris took an early wicket it looked as if Crowborough might struggle to put on a good score. However, despite good bowling from Connor Skillen and Sam Denton which created chances for more wickets, the catches would not stick and runs began to flow. Harrison Baker, playing in his first match, was the pick of the bowlers, with two chances dropped in two overs. Joel Scott took a fine catch on the boundary late in the Crowborough innings.

Cowdrey fought hard to stay in touch. After a good opening partnership from Ed Harris and Alex Howard, Ben Browning hit 25 from 21 balls in a typically aggressive display. Felix Hammett kept the innings together, and late in the match Ollie Shimmin guided Cowdrey past the 100 mark with an unbeaten 21 to secure two bonus points. Credit goes to the boys for batting out the innings and remaining competitive to the end.
